
An introduction to equality and
diversity in the workplace
This course introduces you to five key aspects on the subject of equality and diversity, and is arranged in the following units:
- Unit 1 : Important words and ideas
- Unit 2 : Legislation
- Unit 3 : Language and equality
- Unit 4 : Bullying and harassment
- Unit 5 : Making it real
As well as providing information, the course includes exercises and activities, and asks you to think about different aspects and real-life scenarios.
Each unit contains and explanation and activities to help you understand the subject, plus optional additional exercises or information to develop your understanding even further.
When you have completed this course you will:
- Understand what 'diversity' and 'equal opportunities' are all about
- Understand discrimination, stereotyping, prejudice, harassment and bullying
- Know about the main features of equality legislation
- Have thought about the link between the words we use, and equality
- Have considered what you can do to help make equality 'real' in the workplace
